Overview
The Riverside County Fire Department (RCFD) seeks to fill Fire Systems Inspector vacancies in Palm Desert & Riverside. This recruitment may be used to fill other vacancies throughout the county. The Fire Systems Inspector performs inspections of buildings and facilities under construction, existing facilities, fire protection systems, and industrial processes; prepares and issues fire and life safety inspection reports, notices of correction, notices of violation, and may issue fire code permits and other documents related to compliance; manages other program elements, as requested by the Fire Department; performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education : Graduation from high school or attainment of a satisfactory score on a GED.
Experience : One year performing fire safety inspections, building construction inspections, hazard reduction and abatement inspections, plans examination, or fire suppression. (15 semester units or 22 quarter units from an accredited college or university in fire protection may be substituted for the required experience.)
Other : Completion of the California State Fire Marshal Fire Inspector series courses 1A, 1B, 1C, and 1D is required. Completion of the California Office of the State Fire Marshal Fire Inspector series II and Plans Examiner series is highly desired.
