Client - NiSource

Title - Senior SAP Engineer

Duration - Contract to hire

Location - Columbus, OH (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid role (in office Tues-Thurs) 2. Skills for SAP Principal Engineer Ability to review ABAP Code and coach developers. SAP Architecture expert. Expertise in SAP modules (PM, MM, FI / CO, and GRC). Skill for Salesforce Engineer Ability to review APEX Code and coach develpers, Expertise in Salesforce Field Service. 3. This is a technical role,but expected to know the functionality of the software. 4. Specifically, Salesforce Field Service and SAP S / 4 Hana on SAP Rise with focus on work and asset management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as an SAP Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent relevant work experience)
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management
  • Strong background working in outsourced IT environments
  • Experience with both legacy and modern computing architectures
  • Proven ability to manage technology costs effectively
  • Experience working with a variety of technologies within the SAP domain

Nice to Have

  • Broader cross-domain IT knowledge (infrastructure, middleware, APIs, cloud, databases, etc.)
  • Prior involvement in large enterprise transformation or modernization initiatives
  • Exposure to cost optimization in enterprise-scale SAP deployments

    • Responsibilities

  • Implement strategies to consolidate and protect IT assets
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and configurations
  • Collaborate with Architects and IT staff to support NiSource objectives
  • Ensure adherence to standards and reference architectures across domains
  • Develop and review design artifacts to confirm alignment with architecture direction
  • Update product standards and versioning in assigned domains
  • Drive technology portfolio management discipline and practices
  • Direct implementation of technology roadmap initiatives
  • Apply and enforce best practices and industry standards
  • Identify, assess, and manage technology risks
  • Communicate effectively with architects, project managers, and program managers
  • Provide recommendations to inform the development of the technology roadmap
