Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all children participating in the Kids' Club program
- Communicate with parents about their child's experience in Kids' Club
- Maintain proper staff-to-child ratio, including finding substitutes when sick and staying in the Kids' Club area until a replacement arrives for their shift
- Meet all quality standards in the program area; notify the Director of Membership of any safety or non-compliance issues
- Attend meetings or trainings as required
- Operate all programs with participant safety in mind and abide by applicable risk management policies
- Follow all Westport Weston Family YMCA policies and procedures
- Foster a positive team-oriented environment, encouraging staff growth and development
- Be a positive role model for children and other staff
- Keep the program area clean and free from potential hazards
- Follow the YMCA's behavior management policy, focusing on positive behaviors and helping children work through difficulties
- Report any suspected cases of abuse and / or neglect to the Director of Membership immediately
- Other duties as required

Must have child care experienceCandidate must be at least 16 years old or hold a high school diplomaExperience working with young childrenEffective written and verbal communication skillsExpectations
