Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all children participating in the Kids' Club program
• Communicate with parents about their child's experience in Kids' Club
• Maintain proper staff-to-child ratio, including finding substitutes when sick and staying in the Kids' Club area until a replacement arrives for their shift
• Meet all quality standards in the program area; notify the Director of Membership of any safety or non-compliance issues
• Attend meetings or trainings as required
• Operate all programs with participant safety in mind and abide by applicable risk management policies
• Follow all Westport Weston Family YMCA policies and procedures
• Foster a positive team-oriented environment, encouraging staff growth and development
• Be a positive role model for children and other staff
• Keep the program area clean and free from potential hazards
• Follow the YMCA's behavior management policy, focusing on positive behaviors and helping children work through difficulties
• Report any suspected cases of abuse and / or neglect to the Director of Membership immediately
• Other duties as required
