About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience :

CVICU experience required.

Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required.

Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and / or Acuity Adaptable area preferred.

Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.

License :

Traveler must have a valid nursing license or a compact license from their permanent address state.

Certifications :

BLS & ACLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only.

Must-Have :

Traveler must have basic arrhythmia experience and will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to clearance to start.

Description :

Join the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant team to provide high-quality care to patients on this acuity adaptable unit.

Ensure care is delivered with a mixture of technological expertise and a positive commitment to meeting patient and family needs.

Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and / or lung transplants, and various medical devices.

The unit specializes in the care of cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients.

Planned and emergent procedures are frequently taking place on the unit.

Staff assignments often change throughout a shift as patients are transferred in or out of the unit.

Nurses typically care for 1-2 patients per assignment, but may be assigned 3 general care patients if acuity is low.

The team is complemented by care assistants and a unit clerk.

Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as pharmacy and physical therapy.

This unit is equipped to handle a wide range of patient needs and acuities.

Pass / fail telemetry testing is required with strict passing criteria prior to starting.

Traveler will need to pass a telemetry exam and maintain active competency throughout the contract.
