About The Position

Job Title : NICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour nights

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Active RN License (ND and Compact RN License preferred)

Certifications : Active BLS required, NRP required

Must-Have :

2+ years of experience

Ability to float to PICU and PEDS

Experience with EPIC charting preferred

Level III NICU experience

Description :

Deliver nursing care to neonates.

Assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and chart.

Assist with procedures, including intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions.

Utilize conventional ventilators, high-frequency ventilators, nitric oxide, cool cap, MedFusion pumps, Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, and Epic charting.

Perform neonatal assessments and care for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, oral and IV medications, OG and NG feedings, and G-tubes.

Work with a NICU team on rotating shifts.

Shifts include working every other weekend and holiday.

Float to other units and departments as needed.

Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 for critical and intermediate infants, and 3 : 1 for infants who are growing and feeding.

Receive training on unit norms and assess the level of infants the traveling nurse can safely manage.

Clinicians must badge in and out of the facility.

Wear child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pants.

Must note any previous work history with the organization, with an end date of 6 months prior to submission.

Cancellation policy : client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.

Charting system used is EPIC.

BSN not required.
