Lead Software Developer - Full time role, 2 days on site

My client is seeking a skilled Lead Developer to drive the creation, modernization, and maintenance of on-premises solutions leveraging .NET, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server. This role involves architecting resilient, multi-tier applications, optimizing existing services, and establishing robust engineering practices with a focus on clean architecture. You will lead efforts to translate complex business processes into efficient applications, shaping the technical vision for core systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead triage and response to client requests for new features, workflows, or data services, aligning with existing .NET, SSIS, and SSRS architecture.
  • Analyze, document, and maintain expertise in .NET applications, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SQL Server stored procedures critical to business operations.
  • Ensure reliable operation of legacy .NET, SSIS, and SSRS systems, swiftly diagnosing and resolving production issues.
  • Design and implement enhancements or new components using .NET and SQL Server, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with business users to clarify technical constraints and deliver solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Track and manage technical debt, proposing strategies to balance risk and business value.
  • Enhance standards for documentation, deployment procedures, and system monitoring to ensure long-term sustainability.

Competencies

  • Software Development : Expertise in C#, .NET, and full web stack development.
  • Database Management : Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and ETL processes.
  • Automation & Scripting : Experience with PowerShell for automation.
  • API Development : Knowledge of web-based applications using Blazor.
  • Version Control : Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Agile Methodologies : Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps practices.
  • Technical Skills : Strong capabilities in technical documentation, process improvement, and technical leadership.

    • Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in .NET development, including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with creative and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective professional relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity and drive progress in uncertain conditions.
