Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are built within budget and on schedule, while also maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Proficiently read the architectural and / or structural plans
• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Prepare estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information by utilizing the BC Model
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and convey it to account manager
• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data in BC Model
• Prepare demolition schedules and communicate regular updates to all parties
• Contact demolition driver to adhere to demolition schedule
• Identify and resolve problems, especially those that may affect the cost and quality of the project
• Evaluate and implement change orders that restructures the original bid
• Respond to requests for service and follow through on all punch list items
• Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards and participating educational opportunities
• A completed scope of work before transmitting to the project manager
• Record written request form(s) from the customer for a change order
• Complete a change order form when customer amends or adds from the original bid
• Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, enforcing city codes, and parking permits
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications
• Purchasing - Order finish materials for projects
