Job Description

We are seeking an Entry Level Instrument Repair Technician. No prior experience is necessary as we provide onsite training for a career in the Medical Repair industry. The starting pay ranges from $16.50 to $18.76 per hour, depending on a basic skills test. As you develop new skills, opportunities for pay increases will become available. We also welcome applications from more experienced technicians.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Evaluate the cosmetic appearance and repair needs of surgical instruments.
  • Use repair-related hand tools such as dremels, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, punches, drills, dies, taps, belt sanders, grinding wheels, bead blasters, burnishers, polishers, soldering equipment, and acetylene torches.
  • Utilize measuring tools like digital calipers.
  • Perform form, fit, functional, and cutting tests on instruments.
  • Execute heat adjustments, simple silver & tin soldering, and other metal fabrication repairs.
  • Perform maintenance duties as assigned by the department lead or manager.
  • Follow quality system processes and work instructions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as changing ultrasonic cleaning solutions, cleaning filters, and other duties.
  • Read, understand, and input data into production-related software.

Qualifications

Education : HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge and Skills : Metal fabrication, soldering, metallurgy, measurement tools, and basic computer skills are preferred.

Physical Demands

Vision correctable to 20 / 20 with color spectrum recognition is required. Ability to sit, stand, and walk during the routine. Ability to transport up to 40 pounds is beneficial but not mandatory.

Working Conditions

This position is based indoors in a repair facility. The work involves sitting and standing, with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. A flexible work schedule is required based on workflow and hospital demands.
