Position Summary : Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Functions :

• Perform routine maintenance activities of all Tribal facilities including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, bathhouses, cabins, furniture, rugs / carpet, window coverings, counter tops, etc.
• Service, clean, and replenish bathroom supplies including sharps container supplies.
• Gather and empty trash in waste disposal areas and dispose of waste from sharps container program to an approved red bag and medical waste treatment location.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Follow procedures for the use power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Dump, change water, and sterilize portables sinks in Health Services Department.
• Clean glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Clean Elders Housing and other tribal properties before and after resident moves.
• Assist with set up of tables and facilities for miscellaneous Department meetings and the set-up of the Community Services building for events and meetings.
• Maintain a safe workplace; monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and plumbing repairs and / or notify Lead Facilities Housekeeper concerning the need for repairs.
• Work collaboratively with Department teams (both in the Housing and Facilities Department and other Departments) to ensure services are provided and the highest levels of service are maintained.
