Fitness Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Fitness Manager to join our team. This individual will support the Director of Fitness in developing, implementing, and overseeing a premier fitness, spa, and wellness program within our luxury club. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and wellness, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record in fitness and spa management. This role requires close collaboration with other departments to seamlessly integrate wellness into the club's offerings, ensuring exceptional experiences for our discerning members.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

  • Oversee daily operations of group fitness, fitness center, pool, and spa, ensuring optimal scheduling, staffing, and flawless execution of services.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training of fitness and spa staff, maintaining high performance and service standards.
  • Ensure spa facilities, treatment rooms, and amenities are maintained to luxury standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest experience.
  • Coordinate events, programs, and substitutions to ensure consistent and high-quality offerings.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Train and mentor fitness, spa, and front-of-house staff to deliver outstanding member service.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, promoting professional growth and retention of staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

    • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

  • Screen and schedule interviews for fitness and spa positions.
  • Assist in selecting top talent and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to meet the club's staffing needs.

    • Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Fitness to align on vision, strategy, and future plans for fitness and wellness.
  • Partner with the spa team to develop integrated wellness experiences that complement fitness programming.
  • Collaborate with culinary and events teams to weave wellness into the overall member journey.

    • Program and Service Excellence

  • Design and implement comprehensive fitness and spa offerings tailored to members' needs and preferences, maintaining the club’s luxury standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of fitness and spa facilities, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and provide a top-tier experience.
  • Evaluate treatment menus and fitness / wellness programs to ensure innovation, relevance, and consistent excellence.

    • Industry Trends and Innovation

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and innovations in fitness, spa, and wellness.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and differentiate the club's offerings.
  • Introduce cutting-edge services, treatments, and products that position FORTH as a leader in holistic wellness.

    • Brand Ambassadorship

  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the club’s fitness and spa programs to members and leadership.
  • Represent the club at industry events, conferences, and community engagements.
  • Communicate the benefits and features of the club’s fitness, spa, and wellness programs to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.

    • Required ExperienceEducation and Experience

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in fitness and / or spa management, preferably within a luxury club, resort, or hospitality setting.

    • Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR / fitness / spa management software.

    • Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex situations with professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
