Manager / Specialist position assigned to either a role in Project Controls Management, Department Leadership, Cost Specialist or Planning Specialist. This position has supervisory / lead responsibility over a group of project controls personnel or functions as a technical specialist who develops advanced concepts.

Leads a team of Project Controls (PJC) professionals and able to positively influence internal and external clients on the most complex and highest risk projects and / or is able to function as a technical specialist developing advanced concepts. Supports global collaboration efforts.

PJC Management :

  • Leads and develops PJC team on the most complex and highest risk projects in all aspects of Project Controls.
  • Collaborates with and is an integral part of the project management leadership team.
  • Identifies process improvements.
  • Leads project risk and change management.
  • Drives department initiatives.

Execution Leadership :

  • Ensures implementation of PJC procedures & tools.
  • Ensures transparent project health visibility to the business.
  • Escalates project issues to PJC Leadership and provides resolutions.
  • Support administration of project reviews and resolution of resulting actions.
  • Identifies and confirms successful staffing of projects and proposals, including intermediate-term staff planning.
  • Ensure staff are meeting expectations and provide timely feedback.
  • Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching for career advancement. Assist with succession planning within team.
  • PJC Specialist / Process & Tools Leader :

  • Recognized as an expert in a project controls specialist area.
  • Development and delivery of training & skill programs.
  • Leads project deep dives & PJC gate approvals.
  • Supports department tool development and rollout. Understands how to integrate and synchronize tools and software.
  • Addresses contractual requirements related to cost / schedule including reviewing contract language and providing feedback.
  • Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

    Prefer Master's degree or local equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management. Experience serving in a Leadership role for a medium- to large-sized EPC project in both Home Office and Field preferred. Prefer certificate from either PMI or AACE.

    Four-year Bachelor's degree with ten or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with twelve years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.

    All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any / all of the following : criminal / civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

    Prefer certificate from either PMI or AACE.

    Office Environment : This position requires sitting, talking, hearing, keyboard input and seeing. Occasional travel up to 25% may be required.

    Construction Site Environment : This position requires standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, moving, and walking long distances in and around confined, cluttered places and uneven areas. It also requires the ability to see and hear naturally or with correction, work at heights above 5 feet, climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, and scaffolds and work up to a 12-hour shift. The work environment may involve cramped workspaces, very hot or cold temperatures, inclement weather, extreme lighting conditions, distracting or uncomfortable noise levels, and hazardous equipment.
