Project Overview

Bechtel is performing Project Management and Technical Services leading up to a Final Investment Decision for 750km natural gas pipeline in British Columbia, Canada. The pipeline will traverse remote mountainous terrain, sensitive environments, and deep marine channels.

Job Summary

When assigned to a field construction organization performs supervisory or managerial duties as required. Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.

Major Responsibilities

• Advise, provide engineering and construction guidance to the design of the offshore pipeline.
• Support the supervision of third-party offshore pipeline engineering contractors during project development and execution.
• Oversee jobsite operations including onsite activities of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives.
• Organize the field workforce to ensure the jobsite organization is comprised of qualified personnel and ensures effective personnel utilization.
• Coordinate and implement construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Control jobsite expenditures for labor, equipment, material and services to keep within budget.
• Supervise personnel in assigned area, conduct performance evaluations, and provide progressive training.
• Administer security plan and coordinate with corporate security department.
• Participate in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.
• Ensure construction operations adhere to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.
• Maintain relationships with the client and their representatives.
• Oversee the Environmental, Safety & Health program, ensuring compliance with ES&H laws and regulations.
• Promote Continuous Improvement and lead CI process for the customer and Bechtel.
• Conduct periodic project and customer meetings consistent with the project communications plan.
• Implement Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision-making.
• Perform general administrative functions inherent in jobsite supervisory positions.
