Overview

Field Service Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics covering the San Francisco territory. This role directs and leads the field service organization within the defined area, including installations and implementations, preventative maintenance, break / fix service activity, and proactive post-sale service. P&L responsibility for the Service business with direct revenue in excess of $10M and costs in excess of $5M. Remote – covering the San Francisco Territory.

This role is part of the NACO (North America Commercial Organization) Field Services team and reports to the Senior Field Service Manager – West Coast Region.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly visit clients and customers to maintain the customer network and develop new relationships for opportunities in partnership with the sales team
  • Lead a team of Field Service Engineers, responsible for their training and professional development; establish goals and objectives; lead recruitment to build the team
  • Drive P&L and operational performance around safety, compliance, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, first time fix rate, employee satisfaction, and expense lines
  • Coordinate with the coordination team to facilitate daily activities such as preventative maintenance (PM), modifications (MOD), and balancing daily service-call workload
  • Manage and resolve high-pressure customer issues, including product performance issues and technical escalations
  • Deliver impact at the NACO level by leading projects, applying Danaher Business System to map improvement plans and drive sustainable continuous improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years' experience OR Master Degree with 7+ years' experience
  • 3+ years' experience in people management (direct reports)
  • Working knowledge of Field Customer Support, Service Contracting, and related subfields
  • Knowledge of customer relationships and customer satisfaction methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the region
  • It would be a plus if you also possess :

  • Previous 5+ years' experience managing people
  • Knowledge of the medical diagnostic industry and its trends, pitfalls and challenges
  • Knowledge of diagnostic analyzers – specifications and performance standards and U.S. healthcare legislation
  • Remote / work arrangement and compensation

    This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement; details provided by the interview team. Salary range : $135,000.00-$150,000.00 . Eligible for bonus / incentive pay and housing allowance ($1,200 / month in the Bay area).
