Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Peer Specialist assists individuals in recovery with regaining independence in their communities and sustaining their own recovery and improving their overall health. The Peer Specialist will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health's ICSC Program .

The schedule is (4) 10-hour shifts and the hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (12pm-10 : 30pm) & Saturday (7am-5 : 30pm)

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On incentive between $1,500 to $3,000 based on credentials.

Pay rate : $21.47 - $24.97 per hour.

Responsibilities

A Peer Specialist may have the following responsibilities :

• Collaborate with individuals to develop a person centered recovery plan.
• Link patients to social and other support services in the community.
• Teach individuals and family members coping skills.
• Support the application process for benefits.
• Provide non-clinical crisis support after periods of hospitalization or incarceration.
• Accompany individuals to court appearances and medical appointments.
• Engage individuals with formal recovery support services.
• Educate individuals and family members on various modes of recovery.
• A Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) will also assist individuals in recovery by :

Articulating personal goals for recovery using their recovery experience.

Qualifications

An individual does not need to be in recovery themself but must be able to confer empathy through lived experiences such as family and / or close friends (each peer specialist self-defines his or her "peer-ness").
