Lifeguard : Full / Part Time

Team Sheeper, Inc. is headquartered in Menlo Park, CA at Burgess. We have additional locations in Menlo Park (Belle Haven Pool) and Palo Alto (Rinconada Pool). At our Burgess site, we offer swim lessons for children and adults, youth swim team, triathlete training, aqua fit program, masters swim program, and spring and summer camps. Our Palo Alto site offers seasonal swim lessons  and summer camp. Our Belle Haven site offers seasonal swim lessons and summer camps.

We are looking for year-round lifeguards to join our Burgess team in Menlo Park! Lifeguards can work as little as 10 hours per week or as many as 30 hours per week.

If you are not currently a certified lifeguard we can train you! You must be able to meet the requirements for taking lifeguard training include being able to swim 150 freestyle / breaststroke followed immediately by 2 minutes of hands-free treading, and then 50 freestyle / breaststroke as well as retrieve a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the pool.

Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of the clients at the pool. The position requires interacting with clients, parents and their  children, and the public. This includes problem-solving, information and guidance, and top-notch, professional communication. Lifeguards should  be able to work in a cooperative team environment. Position requires  responsible, consistent, focused, hard-working, and attentive individuals.

Responsibilities :

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility
• Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
• Performs various maintenance and cleaning duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Vaccinations required : Can Apply for an exemption
