A Brief Overview
Oversees the daily operations for the cardiac rehab department. Will also assist in the planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations. Collaborates with the Director in developing, assessing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating patient care.
What you will do
- Knowledge of the HealthCare Equity, Environment and Quality
- Collaboratively establishes and supports the philosophy, goals, standards, and policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and the Mission of Holy Name Hospital
- Ensure that care is delivered in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, the Patient Bill of Rights and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
- Ensures that patient care is delivered in accordance with specialty specific standards (e.g. Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses)
- Supports Shared Governance model and facilitates staff participation; Facilitates Unit based Councils to support professional practice
- Routinely utilizes Evidence Based Practice resources to support clinical and leadership decisions
- Demonstrates advanced clinical nursing skills to assist staff in the development and implementation and evaluation of a plan of care for each patient
- Develops unit based of performance improvement plan with involvement of involves nursing staff and utilizes data to enhance quality of patient care
- Conducts patient care rounds daily
- Ensure staff compliance with current regulatory standards (JCAHO, HIPPA, etc.).
- Leadership
- Models effective leadership skill through role modeling, mentorship, and effective communication
- Ensures that criteria based performance evaluations and staff competencies are completed annually
- Inspires confidence of employees and management team by remaining well informed, listening with an open mind, and communicating in a highly professional manner
- Collaborates with nurse recruiters to identify unit recruitment and retention strategies
- Counsels and disciplines staff in an appropriate manner according to hospital policy

- Self-motivated to seek educational opportunities to develop ongoing expertise in clinical managerial and legal aspects of care
- Identifies staff education needs and supports staff attendance at educational programs

- Collaborates with clinical educators to develop educational plan for all staff members
- Participates in the educational plan as needed.
- Communication and Relationship Management
- Facilitates and coordinates patient care with all members of interdisciplinary health team while monitoring patients progress and intervening as necessary
- Investigates concern of patients, visitors, and physicians and develops and implements a corrective plan of action
- Actively contributes to and participates on various department and organization committees
- Builds credibility with physicians as a champion for patient care, quality, and the nursing profession

- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility without compromise to quality patient care by allocating resources (personnel, supplies, and equipment) based on census, activity, productivity, outcomes, and acuity
- Recognizes opportunities and intervenes in problems related to over / under utilization of resources, appropriateness of admission, continued length of stay, appropriate level of care, and or patient care delays
- Plans to meet patient care needs by scheduling and assigning appropriate levels of staff using measures of productivity and outcomes
- Maintains monthly quality check standards for validity and reliability of Patient Classification System.
- Monitors vacancy and turnover rates and implements retention strategies for unit success.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing holding current New Jersey license. Bachelor’s degree and / or, Master’s degree preferred. RequiredMaster's Degree PreferredExperience Qualifications

Pay Range : $150,009.60 - $172,494.40
