RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

  • Undertake teaching and related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conduct classes / lectures, tutorials, and practicals; consultation with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment.
  • Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of AI and technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
  • Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice / consultancy work.
  • Participate and contribute to high-quality programme and curriculum development.
  • Plan and implement teaching strategies to optimise student learning and motivation.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University's expectations.

Research

  • Participate in scholarly activities, including research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work.
  • Support efforts to secure grants for research and scholarship as a co-researcher.
  • Possess supervision or co-supervision experience.

    • Administration and Other Activities

  • Undertake administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees and working groups within the Department, School, and Faculty.
  • Participate in continuous professional activities.
  • Assist in establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies in academic matters.

    • REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD from a recognized university in Social Sciences / Humanities
  • Candidates must be able to teach Mata Pelajaran Umum and attend the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme provided by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for new modules offered to degree and diploma students.
  • Publication in reputable journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years, with at least 2 publications in Social Sciences.
  • Experience working in higher education, with a track record of teaching, curriculum development, and professional knowledge, including coaching, mentoring, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies.
  • Experience on research projects or professional practice / consultancy work, with evidence of outputs.
  • Demonstrated links to relevant external organizations and / or the profession.
