Philanthropy Officer / Manager - West Coast

About MAPS

Since 1986, MAPS has led the psychedelic movement with evidence-based approaches to changing policies, advancing research, and shaping culture. MAPS' flagship project — seeding the effort to make MDMA into a medicine for PTSD — has birthed a new field that won't give up until its goal has been achieved. Clinical and real-world research is flourishing, as academics and entrepreneurs catch up to MAPS and the other visionary members of our movement who sparked and carried this work for a generation.

In the meantime, our hearts have been dedicated to public education and community building to inform evidence-based policy, and we have laid the foundation of the movement to efforts for legal, responsible access to psychedelics for healing, spirituality, and personal growth — even outside of the medical model. This vision has been made real by advocates who have ushered in regulated programs and created momentum for decriminalization and psychedelic public health in small and large jurisdictions worldwide.

Why work for MAPS?

At MAPS, we value transparency, autonomy, experimentation, and kind, direct feedback. We welcome applicants who thrive in a growing organization that values science and healing.

We believe in diversity and inclusion of people of all backgrounds, genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, educational backgrounds, arrest or conviction record, military and veteran status, religions, abilities, and perspectives. MAPS values and seeks applicants who are people of color, queer, transgender, gender non-conforming, and gender fluid.MAPS strives to continually improve upon the supportive, equitable, and accessible work environment.

MAPS is at the forefront of changing the way mental health issues are treated and is committed to bringing dignity and access to overcoming mental health challenges through the conscious use of psychedelics. We believe we are changing the world, and we want you to be a part of it. MAPS has 7 guiding principles : (1) healing for all, (2) be the bridge, (3) open science – open book, (4) prioritize public benefit, (5) set the setting, (6) consciousness without criminalization, and (7) see past the paradox. For more information, please visit 7 Principles of MAPS.
