WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time entry-level HVAC Testing and Balancing Technician for our Columbia, Maryland office.

Responsibilities
- Testing, adjusting and balancing to achieve proper operation of HVAC systems for institutional clients (Hospitals, Labs and Higher Education).
- Critical space testing to measure airflows and confirm room pressurization is correct in addition to calculating air change rates directly for existing healthcare clients.
- Pre-commissioning to confirm the installation of the mechanical system is installed per the contract documents and the owner's specifications.
- Functional performance testing to exercise HVAC equipment through its paces to confirm the systems are operating per the design intent.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma.Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.Fluent with basic computer skills, tablet usage, and operation.Technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.Able to work with others in a team environment.Able to receive direction from senior staff.Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug / alcohol and harassment policies.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commute within the Baltimore, Southern Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia region initially.Flexible to work minor off-hours shifts as needed (all off-hours work will be scheduled and coordinated in advance).The applicant will need to have a valid COVID-19 vaccination to meet our healthcare client's requirements for all contractor staff performing work on their project sites.The applicant will need to have a yearly flu shot to meet our healthcare client's requirements for all contractor staff performing work on their project site.This role is subject to a client-mandated drug / alcohol testing policy. As such, employees may be subject to random drug / alcohol tests. A copy of the client-mandated drug / alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.Preferred Qualifications

Compensation
Estimated Salary Range : $45,400 – $64,800 (all locations).
