Account Executive, Publisher Development - (Remote - US)

Base pay range : $130,000.00 / yr - $150,000.00 / yr

Mediavine is seeking an Account Executive to join our Publisher Development Team, as a part of our larger Revenue Department.

Position Title & Overview : The Account Executive will be responsible for growing Mediavine's list of publishers. You will work within the Publisher Development Team's framework to identify new opportunities, build relationships, and bring in new business that meets company goals and priorities.

Growing our business requires an emphasis on quality as well as quantity. The person in this role will work as a part of the team to ensure that prospective Mediavine publishers are vetted for brand safety, traffic, and advertising performance potential as the rest of our clients.

This role reports directly to the VP of Publisher Development.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new publisher opportunities in all verticals that qualify for Mediavine and all of its programs and offerings
  • Pitch the Mediavine solution and close business that meets or exceeds targets
  • Build and manage individual pipelines by maintaining active engagement with new and existing leads through follow-up
  • Develop a deep understanding of the ad tech landscape
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Mediavine's products and services
  • Actively reach out to web properties that align with Mediavine's quality standards
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with clients and serve as a point of contact for onboarding
  • Participate in strategic calling and messaging to identify new business opportunities
  • Effectively manage inbound lead flow as well as outbound prospecting initiatives
  • Establish priorities of prospect outreach and the order of approach
  • Lead introductory / discovery calls with publishers
  • Collaborate with and contribute to the success of the publisher development and publisher success teams
  • Stay current on competitors and industry trends and share knowledge with the team
  • Assist as a point of escalation for issues as needed
  • Travel on an as-needed basis for business opportunities and events (approx. 30%)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Business / Publisher Development in the adtech, digital publishing, and / or technology spaces
  • Prior or current experience working remotely with a distributed team and clients
  • Experience with the blogging / web publishing community
  • Experience with the full sales cycle with the ability to close deals
  • Strong proficiency with Google Suite
  • Experience with communication platforms like Slack
  • Experience working with a CRM such as HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.
  • An understanding of the online marketing and advertising industries
  • Understanding of sales and account management best practices with the ability to adapt communication methods to achieve goals
  • Ability to understand customer needs and navigate conversations to present useful information
  • Demonstrated ability to present a value proposition
  • Ability to meet sales targets in coordination with executives and other stakeholders
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback and ideas to the team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Availability to travel as needed (as noted above)

    At Mediavine, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role at the time of posting is $130,000 - $150,000 USD / yr.
