Ambassador & Event Planners of Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation
The University of Oklahoma Division of Student Affairs is looking for undergraduate and graduate students who are located in the Norman area to serve as ambassadors and event planners for Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation. Ambassadors are responsible for arranging virtual and physical events for campus and fostering a specific community and culture within gaming.
Overview
Program Culture
You are responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive culture within a focused community of the OU Gaming Club. This includes creating a collaborative and welcoming environment for all members, events, and accessibility to physical resources in our lab and event spaces. This team is the epicenter of the ECCI department and is intended to ensure gaming inspired programming stays available and welcoming for all gamers.
Availability & Communication
You should maintain regular communication with your supervisor, the Community and Labs Coordinator. This includes attending regularly scheduled meetings and staying attentive and responsive via communication networks such as Discord and email.
Outreach
The community team is the primary contact point to the entire ECCI development and should always be hyper responsive to topics of philanthropic collaboration; take the opportunity to support youth and K-12 based development; and actively look for ways of contributing back to opportunities of need within our regional community.
Collaboration
The abilities of our department include producing live coverage of matches, putting on community events, featuring our programs and teams in articles and videos, and promoting both gaming and esports culture. Our community department holds the keys to enable the ability to make all those things easier through building fan engagement, utilizing our spaces, and ensuring we’re allowing our supporters and future community members the ability to have a touchpoint into one of OU’s largest single topic communities.
