Responsibilities
The Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, both in the field and in manufacturing environments. An understanding of complex electrical distribution systems and sophisticated test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment and project success. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.
- Assist experienced specialists in coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables.
- Prepare and review electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
- Perform routine electrical calculations.
- Review supplier documentation for compliance with specifications.
- Use the electrical engineering website to access guides and standards.
- Understand basic commissioning, inspection, and testing of electrical components and systems.
- Have knowledge of electrical engineering theories.
- Be familiar with power systems, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, relays, UPS, and test equipment.
- Proficient in technical writing.
- Understand advanced mathematics.
- Be aware of industry codes and standards.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Willing to travel to customer sites periodically.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of relevant electrical experience, or an associate's degree with 2+ years, or a bachelor's degree with 1+ year, or 8+ years with a high school diploma or GED.Valid / active U.S. Work Authorization.Candidate Expectations
Experience in electronics installation and maintenance on multiple systems.Ability to interpret trade drawings (architectural, electrical, mechanical, civil).Knowledge of industry standards including NETA ATS / MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E.Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
OEM certified field service training.Certifications such as NETA Level III or IV preferred.Abilities
