You Will Be Responsible For :

• Works with residency programs during the application process, student rotation scheduling with preceptors, and ADVENTHEALTH GME orientation for students approved for rotations. Schedules scrub training for students approved for surgical rotations. Works with the Program Directors and GME Residency Coordinators in matters relating to medical student and visiting resident rotations. Maintains Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) rotation database to include rotation types and rotation dates open for medical student applicants.
• Provides assistance and support to all students regarding questions and concerns about the application process, supporting documents, orientation requirements, reporting structure, ADVENTHEALTH policy, procedures and confidentiality. Prepares confirmation emails to trainee, school clerkship coordinator and GME Residency Coordinator as appropriate. Resolves scheduling conflicts to ensure each student's schedule meets clerkship requirements for graduation.
• Serves as the primary point of contact between ADVENTHEALTH GME and medical school Clerkship Coordinators to establish medical school affiliation agreements and hosts rotating medical students within ADVENTHEALTH GME programs. Serves as the primary point of contact between ADVENTHEALTH GME and Residency Coordinators from other GME programs and accepts rotating residents and fellows.
• Collaborates with ADVENTHEALTH GME to ensure new and renewed academic affiliation agreements are fully executed as necessary. Maintains a database of executed contracts with expiration date and clerkship contacts for each agreement.

Job Summary :

The Medical Student Coordinator, GME (Graduate Medical Education) arranges student and visiting resident rotations at AdventHealth campuses within the Orlando system. The Coordinator organizes and presents AdventHealth orientation materials to all students on a weekly basis and arranges badge and computer access. The Coordinator works to ensure Computer Based Learning (CBL) is completed and arranges TB testing and mask fit as appropriate.

The Coordinator ensures that AdventHealth and medical school affiliation agreements are current and maintains the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Visiting Student Application Service database for each AdventHealth GME program. The coordinator liaisons with residency program coordinators and program directors to ensure all available rotation slots are filled with qualified medical students.

The Coordinator maintains an up-to-date GME Medical Student Clerkship Manual and assists medical schools and other residency programs with student evaluation completion. The Coordinator ensures that all documents and applications are complete and approved prior to the student rotating at AdventHealth.

The Coordinator actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
