Overview

Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace. North Berwick, ME | Onsite. U.S. Citizenship Required (ITAR Restricted).

Role Overview : We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our aerospace team in North Berwick, ME. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of manufacturing processes, data analysis, and supplier collaboration to drive improvements in quality, delivery, and production schedules. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Support & Collaboration

Partner with suppliers and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to track and manage activities within a Supplier's Line of Balance.

  • Support engineering source approvals, first article inspections (FAIs), quality notifications, and engineering first piece reviews.
  • Manufacturing Process Oversight
  • Evaluate and improve production techniques, work instructions, and process plans.

  • Review and interpret technical documentation, quality specifications, and policies to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead dive investigations, identify root causes of non-conformances, and implement corrective / preventive actions.

  • Drive initiatives to reduce defects, improve delivery performance, and enhance supplier reliability.
  • Communication & Teamwork
  • Serve as a key liaison across engineering, suppliers, and operations.

  • Clearly present findings, negotiate solutions, and collaborate with integrated product teams and leadership.
  • Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (due to ITAR restrictions).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • General understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, broaching, splining, and grinding.
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or supplier development.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with aerospace suppliers and / or OEM manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, FAA / EASA regulations, and other aerospace standards.
