Job Summary / Description :

Are you ready to grow your anchoring skills? WLBT in Jackson, the number one news media organization in Mississippi, is looking for its next newsroom leader. If you want to guide our viewers through breaking news, investigations, and the complex issues of the day from a brand new, visually compelling studio, then please consider joining us as our next Anchor. There will also be storytelling from the field. This person will anchor a daily newscast and tell stories as an MMJ.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Lead our coverage from the studio and the field
• Shooting, writing, and editing daily content for newscasts and digital platforms
• Compelling live reporting, including breaking, planned,d and feature coverage
• Operating portable live unit, and conducting live shots from the field
• Generating story ideas and building local contacts
