American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg position requiring EPIC proficiency and ability to administer insulin and heparin drips.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Medical Surgical unit providing care to adult and geriatric patientsDaily census is approximately 43 patients with target ratios of 1 : 6-7Care for general Med / Surg patients, including those requiring insulin and heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen, and occasional BiPap support12-hour night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per weekAssigned to every other weekend and required to work holidaysFloating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding may be requiredEPIC is the charting system used and prior experience is requiredCharge nurse responsibilities are required on night shiftsCall required if scheduled for on-call shiftsStaff may be assigned to storm or hurricane team and expected to report during catastrophic eventsResponsibilities include caring for adult and geriatric Med / Surg patients, administering specified drips, and handling wound care and respiratory support as neededAssigned to an Inclement Weather Team with possible activation during major eventsUnit orientation is 24 hoursNavy scrubs are requiredEvery other weekend and major holiday coverage are required; must work 2 of 3 major holidays if assignment includes those datesFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionCandidates with former employment at the specified health system must have a 12-month gap before applyingCandidates must not work simultaneously as travel Per Diem clinicians within the health systemFatigue policy limits to 5 consecutive workdays or 60 hours per weekModules must be completed prior to start and annually\n \n Requirements\n
