Mechanically Trained Operator – New State-of-the-Art Bakery (Oak Creek, WI)

Location : 7350 10th St, Oak Creek, WI 53154

Hire Type : Full-Time

Salary : $22.50 - $24.90 per hour

Shift Premiums : +$1.50 (2nd shift) | +$3.00 (3rd shift)

Shift Schedules :

  • 2nd Shift : Monday – Friday | 2 PM – 11 PM
  • 3rd Shift : Sunday – Thursday | 10 PM – 7 AM

  • What You’ll Do

    Operate & Monitor Equipment

  • Operate high-speed packaging and production equipment to meet production targets.
  • Perform setups, changeovers, and adjustments for optimal efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot & Maintain

  • Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Perform inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Collaborate & Communicate

  • Partner with the Packaging Lead and Maintenance Team on equipment performance.
  • Provide feedback and suggest workflow improvements.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA, GMP, SQF, and HACCP standards.
  • Participate in safety programs and hazard reporting.
  • Track & Report

  • Log downtime, repairs, and performance in CMMS (EAM).
  • Report throughput, material usage, and waste metrics.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

  • Equipment Uptime : Minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Production Efficiency : Meet or exceed production targets.
  • Safety Compliance : Maintain strict safety and food safety standards.
  • Operational Reliability : Proactively address equipment issues and improvements.
  • What We’re Looking For :

  • 1–2 years in a manufacturing setting (preferably high-speed packaging).
  • Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs / adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with high-speed equipment & maintenance tools.
  • CMMS (EAM) experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED (technical certification a plus).
  • Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
  • Bonus Points : Bilingual in English and Spanish.
