Under direct and indirect supervision, functions as the Information Technology Specialist for user hardware and software issues. Installs, modifies and makes repairs to laptops, personal computer hardware and software systems. Applicant must be able to provide technical advice and support to system users, problem solving, presenting technical information, software maintenance, software testing, vendor relationships, and software performance tuning.
Position reports to the Information Technology Manager. Must be knowledgeable in IT security issues and solutions and experienced in desktop security. Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of a wide range of equipment, software and services necessary to develop and deliver information systems and solutions to meet the needs of the agency. Must be a highly effective communicator both orally and in writing. Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment. Excellent leadership, time management and interpersonal skills.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, management or related field, supplemented by one or two years of experience in information technology operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
