M365 & Intune Architect

The Department of Administration's Office of Technology and Information Services is the state's central provider of IT services to state government agencies. We are seeking a talented M365 & Intune Architect to join our system design team. In this role you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 services and the Intune endpoint management platform and will work alongside a talented group of architects for a holistic approach. This role will ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Division of Technology Operations (DTO) and Division of Information Security (DIS) standards and strategies. Provide leadership in developing and maintaining modern workplace solutions ensuring integration and enterprise system and compliance with organizational policies and security standards.

This position plays a critical role in our ongoing support of our shared services customers and their adoption to best of breed technologies. Your consulting mindset will be impactful to our customers, allowing a wide array of agencies to plan and implement secure designs for their organizations.

This position is onsite in beautiful Columbia, South Carolina.

Responsibilities of the M365 & Intune Architect :

  • Design and lead the deployment of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint online, MS Teams, and OneDrive. Ensure optimal configuration, security and performance.
  • Work with DTO and agency technical teams to integrate agency services into DTO Shared Service offerings.
  • Implement security best practices across Microsoft 365 and Intune environments. Integrating identity protection, data loss prevention, Microsoft Defender and compliance features.
  • Develop architectural documentation, configuration standards and governance models to ensure repeatable processes, compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with Agency objectives and standards.
  • Work closely with DTO leadership, security teams, application owners and Agency stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical leadership and deliver enterprise class solutions.
  • This position is considered essential in order to maintain continuity of operations for DTO and its customers. Other duties as assigned. May be requested to serve on committees, project teams, or other augmented duties as necessary.

Qualifications :

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration architecture or engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune or other modern endpoint management platforms.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation in Microsoft 365 and Intune environments.
  • Experience designing secure cloud first or hybrid solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint online, MS Teams, OneDrive and Microsoft 365 tenant configuration.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing devices using MS Intune including Windows Autopilot, configuration profiles and application packaging.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, conditional access, identity protection, compliance center, and data loss prevention.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across many different technical teams.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time.
