Sr Java Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Software Engineer to play a key role in the modernization of a critical internal application. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on rebuilding and transforming a legacy system into a modern, cloud-native solution. You'll be part of a small, focused team and will help drive the architecture, design, and implementation of the new platform. You will lead the design and development of the new application built on Java and deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This will include partnering with other engineers and stakeholders to define scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

We are looking for a proven senior software engineer in an enterprise environment with deep Java development experience with modern Java frameworks. In addition, you will have hands on experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major cloud provider. You will possess a strong understanding of software architecture, API design and scalable system design.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain technology solutions and ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements

Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites

Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain the continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline for technology solutions

Collaborate cross-functionally with team members to achieve innovative, business-results driven technology solutions

Consistently apply best practices and drive for continuous improvement

Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and / or relevant work experience; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

5 years of experience with application development or package software implementation

Ability to manage work direction and lead, influence, mentor, and provide feedback to others within team

Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Ability to speak up to address risk and opportunities

Strong problem-solving and analysis skills

Ability to transition abstract concepts into stable and supportable software solutions

Ability to develop unbiased options and recommendations to technical problems and unbiased comparisons

Strong traits of decisiveness and judgment

Ability to drive innovation and be forward thinking

Excellent documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Google Cloud Composer, Google BigQuery, Google Dataflow, Google Dataplex, Java, Python, SQL, and Pyspark

Experience with Google cloud storage and Google Looker Studio.

Experience with Big Query Data Transfer Service and Postgres SQL

Experience or familiarity with the following : Apache Airflow, Apache Beam, GitHub, Kafka Libraries, Kafka Connect, Alteryx Designed

Data Warehousing experience

Experience working in environment with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)

Previous experience in PBM / health care industry

Physical Demands

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and shifts outside of Prime's core business hours of 9 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 00 p.m. as needed for technical support and / or project needs

Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

Occasionally required to lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Potential pay for this position ranges from $94,000.00 - $160,000.00 based on experience and skills.
