Nursing Shift Director

DEFINITION / PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

A Registered healthcare professional who provides Administrative direction for a shift for the delivery of patient care. This position is responsible to support staff; maintain patient, family and physician satisfaction; and utilize resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting / regulatory agency standards, hospital and departmental policies and procedures and customer service standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience :

Current clinical experience.

Three years of supervisory / leadership experience required.

Experience working with and directing others in a fair, consistent and respectful manner.

Education and Training :

Graduated from a qualified nursing program with a Baccalaureate degree (BSN preferred) or equivalent work experience.

License, Certification & Registration :

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year.

RN License as a professional nurse within MA

BLS

Other Requirements :

Ability to interpret and administer policies.

Demonstrated leadership ability, strong decision making, and good collaboration skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, communicates effectively with patients, family members, physicians, management and staff.

Documented effectiveness in addressing problems and resolving conflict.

Ability to use Equipment and Computer used to care for patients.
