Engineering Operations Manager
As the Engineering Operations Manager, you will lead engineering operations across the Mid-Hudson Valley (MHV) and broader Americas region. This role requires a strategic leader, while operating in a fast pace environment with a deep technical expertise in facilities management, particularly in mechanical and electrical systems. You will drive operational excellence, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure service delivery meets IBM's high standards.
Strategic Leadership & Operational Support
- Lead a team of electrical and mechanical engineers; serve as the subject matter expert for the market
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, proactively solving challenges and driving improvements
- Develop deep client business intelligence to anticipate needs and deliver strategic value
- Ability to respond and provide resolution in a 24x7 critical environment
- Oversee operations of mechanical, electrical, critical environments, and fire / life safety systems for a diverse portfolio
- Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance program that is completed by the service provider
- Optimize SOPs and implement best practices across the portfolio
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the on account service providers, SMEs, CIO teams, Space & Occupancy, IT, Security, EHS, and strategic vendors.Support regional initiatives while maintaining consistency and quality across the AmericasTranslate complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and efficiency.Participate in the capital planning for the portfolio and act as engineering MSE on capital projectsLeaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.
Required technical and professional expertise
Essential Requirements10+ years in senior-level Facilities Engineering role or technical leadership roles.Subject matter expertise in hard services within facilities management or critical infrastructure environment.Technical ExcellenceStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, critical environment systems, and local codes.Experience with contracts, budget, schedule, and construction projects.Leadership & Strategic ThinkingExceptional team leadership and talent development skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.Preferred technical and professional experience
