Advanced Practice Provider - Urgent Care at Hudson Bridge (part-time)
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is recruiting a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Hudson Bridge urgent care location. Our pediatric Urgent Care Centers treat non-life-threatening illnesses in children and teens. APPs at Urgent Care provide comprehensive care at an advanced practice level within a collaborative practice model.
To care for our urgent care patients, heavy evening and weekend work will be expected.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care management within a collaborative practice model for children of all ages under the supervision of the supervising / collaborating physician within the scope of practice outlined by state statute and Children's bylaws in inpatient and / or ambulatory settings.
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams and identify normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.
- Serve as an educational resource for patients, families, health care professionals, and students.
- Facilitate patient referrals to other medical providers, medical facilities, and other health / social service agencies as needed.
- Collaborate and / or consult with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
Education
Master's degree in nursing or bachelor's degree in medical science.Qualifications
No minimum experience required (experience preferred in pediatric healthcare).Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience in pediatric healthcare preferred.Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice or Master's / Doctorate degree in Medical Science.Certification Summary
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia or multi-state licensure through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact and APRN licensure in Georgia OR licensure as a Physician Assistant in Georgia.Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the ANCC, AANP, PNCB, or NCCPA (Family Nurse Practitioner certification may be acceptable with CNO approval).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire for NP / PA in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Anesthesia, Hematology / Oncology, and Critical Care.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proficient knowledge of Georgia Scope of Practice for NP / PA, Joint Commission regulatory requirements, and credentialing processes.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrates integrity, collaborative and respectful behavior, flexibility and willingness to change.Job Requirements
Demonstrates ability to work in a team, provide patient-centered care, and participate in program development, education, and quality improvement.Work Location
