Annual Salary : $240k – $320k (varies depending on years of experience)
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to provide high-quality behavioral health services to a diverse patient population. The clinician will perform psychiatric assessments, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. This position plays a key role in supporting the mental health and well-being of individuals across a range of diagnoses and treatment needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management visits.
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications as clinically appropriate.
- Provide education to patients and families on mental health conditions, medication effects, and treatment expectations.
- Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization when required.
- Participate in case discussions and interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate holistic care for patients with complex needs.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Ensure smooth transitions of care between internal programs, external behavioral health providers, hospitals, and other partners.
- Contribute to the integration of behavioral health and primary care services through collaborative care planning.
- Stay informed on current trends, evidence-based practices, and legislative updates relevant to psychiatry and behavioral health.
- Engage in continuing professional education and participate in clinical team meetings, trainings, and peer reviews.
- Promote a respectful and collaborative environment with staff, patients, and community partners.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.Completion of a psychiatry residency program.Current, unrestricted New York State medical license.Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.Active DEA registration.BLS certification required.Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) certification preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to assess and de-escalate in crisis situations.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Atlas Search is a tri-state area recruitment agency, connecting new graduates, Advanced Practice Providers, Physicians and Nurse Leaders to hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty groups, nursing homes, managed care companies, private practices, and healthcare start-ups.
