Job Title : Associate Research Scientist

Duration : 12 months Contract on W2 (possible extension based on performance)

Location : Cambridge, MA

Onsite position

Client : BMS

NOTE :

The candidate must be able to work onsite (100%) 5 days a week at Cambridge Crossing, so local candidates only please.

Job Description : Must Have List :

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular / Cell Biology, or a related discipline, with 3-5 years of direct experience managing the day to day operations of a cell line collection.
  • Experience with data & inventory management systems including Benchling, Mosaic, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional workload planning, prioritization, organizational, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail and consistent follow through.
  • Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture including expertise in aseptic technique, culture optimization, cell counting, cryopreservation, and validation methods.
  • Experience in experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting, and a range of biology skill sets including in vitro cell assay development, plate based assays, Western blotting, ELISA / MSD, transfections, lentiviral transductions, siRNA / shRNA / CRISPR, qPCR, and viability assays

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • BS / MS degree in Biology, Molecular / Cell Biology, or a related discipline, with 35 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture including expertise in aseptic technique, culture optimization, cell counting, cryopreservation, and validation methods.
  • Experience in experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting, and a range of biology skill sets including in vitro cell assay development, plate based assays, Western blotting, protein quantification, ELISA, MSD, transfections, lentiviral transductions, siRNA / shRNA / CRISPR, qPCR, and viability assays.
  • Experience in managing or supporting a cell line collection, including experience with data management using inventory management systems such as Mosaic and Benchling.
  • Strong proficiency in workload planning, prioritization, organization, time management, meticulous attention to detail, and consistent follow through.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross functional collaborative team.
  • Experience utilizing electronic notebooks is preferred, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, eager to develop new skills, and possesses a positive attitude.
  • Job Responsibilities include :

  • Working both independently and collaboratively to support cutting edge Oncology drug discovery biology programs & the departmental cell collection.
  • Developing and executing mechanistic in vitro cellular assays to characterize mechanism of action of Client compounds.
  • Managing the departmental cell collection including inventory management, cell line registration, collection, distribution, and cell line validation.
  • Maintaining detailed and organized records of protocols and experimental results.
  • Collaborating cross functionally with other team members to advance programs.
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting experimental data in team meetings.
