The Fresno City Attorney's Office seeks a law student (2L through 4L) to serve as a law clerk. Law clerks will be assigned a wide variety of legal tasks for the City Attorney's Office, including but not limited to projects related to code enforcement, litigation, and transactional law. Assignments may include performing research and writing legal briefs, compiling evidence, locating, interviewing, and preparing witnesses, researching City Council actions, researching Fresno Municipal Code provisions, preparing declarations, screening tenants facing unlawful evictions, and representing the City at administrative hearings. The law clerk position is considered temporary, at will, without benefits, compensated on an hourly basis, with the hourly compensation ranging from $20 for law students, to $25 for certified law students. The available hours range from 10 to 25 hours per week.Qualified candidates will have completed their first year of law school.
