Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN with a NM or compact license and recent travel assignment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital General Medical Unit setting
  • Day shift schedule : 12-hour shifts from 0650 to 1850, three days per week
  • Some weekends and call may be required
  • Floating between departments and locations within 20 miles is required
  • EPIC EMR is used; onsite training available
  • Responsible for direct nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care
  • Supervises LPNs and assistive personnel as needed
  • May be required to complete patient population, protocol, and competency education per unit standards
  • Orientation includes pass / fail onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia testing, with two attempts allowed
  • Appropriate protocols, standards of care, and medication administration must be followed

    • Requirements

  • Active NM or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • Minimum of two years recent Med-Surg experience required
  • At least one previous 13-week travel assignment required
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Must maintain flexibility and function well in a fast-paced environment
  • No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Return permanent staff must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
