About The Position

Description :

Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required for this unit and all RN units.

ICU and Intermediate Care patients.

ICU nurses monitor telemetry for the hospital.

Utilizes specialized electronic medical record systems for acute care and emergency services.

Float to Medical-Surgical / Telemetry and Intermediate Care units is required.

Possible Float to Emergency Department as needed.

Night shift from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30, 3 shifts per week.

Experience with managing critical patients.

Accessing Ports and Arterial line management.

Assisting with Chest Tube Insertion and Removal.

Management of BiPAP and CPAP.

Blood Product Administration and Care of Ventilated Patients.

Central line care and management.

Management of Chronic and Acute Renal failure.

Administration of Continuous IV paralytics and Neuromuscular blockade.

Monitoring and Administration of Continuous IV sedation.

CVA / Acute Stroke management.

Emergency Medication administration.

Understanding of GI surgery procedures.

High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) use.

Hypothermia protocol management.

Infection Prevention protocols.

Interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias.

Isolation Precautions and use of PPE.

Management of IV insulin protocols.

Management of dysrhythmias and Multi-system organ failure.

Obtaining 12 lead EKGs and Phlebotomy skills.

PICC line management and Procedural Sedation Administration.

Starting IVs and Suctioning (ETT, NT).

Management of Surgical Wounds with drains and Wound Vac.

Titration of Cardiac drips and Vasoactive drips.

Ventilator management experience is essential.

This position requires flexibility and the ability to float to various inpatient units as needed.

All RNs will be requested to confirm awareness of shift reporting and rounding requirements.

References required, with one from a supervisor.

AHA certifications must be completed prior to the start of the position.
