Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) - San Antonio or Austin, Texas — Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer, with a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license, to join our growing MEP Engineering team in one of our Texas offices (San Antonio or Austin).

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, focusing on lighting and power distribution systems for Commercial, Industrial, and / or Institutional projects. What you will do

  • Plan and prepare engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working with or as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and / or owners.
  • Create electrical project construction documents, plans, specifications, and design analyses for electrical / lighting system designs.
  • Conduct on-site visits to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations. Construction activities may include shop drawing reviews, responding to RFIs, and site visits to generate observation reports.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.

What you will need

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design with lighting and power distribution systems for Commercial, Industrial, and / or Institutional projects.
  • Knowledge of the NEC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and associated NFPA standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in Water / Wastewater, Federal, and / or Transportation-related projects is a plus.
