Overview

Product Quality Assurance - Quality Engineer role at BioSpace. Lilly IT is seeking a Quality Engineer to support delivery of high-quality software by collaborating with developers, product managers, and other quality engineers to embed testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support test planning and execution, contribute to automation frameworks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a hands-on tester and quality advocate, ensuring test coverage, defect prevention, and learning while supporting innovation in quality engineering practices.
  • Partner with developers, product owners, and peers during design and testing discussions to build testability into requirements and designs.
  • Participate in code reviews, pair testing, and debugging sessions; communicate test progress, results, and risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Follow defined QE processes, policies, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, GxP, HIPAA, or other relevant regulations) and contribute to improving quality practices, tools, and workflows.
  • Assist in performance, security, and reliability testing; contribute to observability and shift-left / shift-right testing practices.
  • Remain proactive in learning new tools, frameworks, and testing methodologies; expand automation, performance testing, and quality metrics skills over time.

What You Should Bring

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to work effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, performance, security, exploratory).
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Proficiency in programming / scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI).
  • Familiarity with CI / CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git).
  • Exposure to performance / load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, XRay, Qtest) and coordinating with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills; ability to mentor peers and promote a culture of quality.
  • Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years in a Quality Engineer, Software Tester, or similar role within Agile / DevOps environments.
