Facilities Outdoor Services Lead

The Facilities Outdoor Services Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of outdoor maintenance operations, including groundskeeping, landscaping, equipment maintenance, and snow / ice removal. This role ensures that all outdoor service activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The position includes oversight of a dedicated outdoor services team, planning and execution of daily work, maintaining equipment, and providing logistical and operational support for special events and emergency response. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of landscaping and mechanical systems, and experience managing teams and outdoor service operations in dynamic, weather-sensitive environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a team responsible for groundskeeping, landscaping, and general outdoor maintenance.
• Develop and manage daily work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor the quality and safety of work performed, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• Provide hands-on support and leadership during daily operations and special projects. Respond to operational issues, customer requests, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on landscaping and snow removal equipment (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers, irrigation systems).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
• Coordinate with external vendors or service providers for specialized repairs.
• Develop and implement snow and ice removal plans for all facility grounds, including parking lots, walkways, and access points.
• Supervise snow removal staff and contractors; oversee deployment of snowplows, salt spreaders, and de-icing equipment.
• Monitor weather forecasts and ensure readiness for winter weather events.
• Maintain inventory of snow / ice removal materials and equipment.
