Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level III trauma and strong ER skills.
Responsibilities
Work in a 15-bed Emergency Room with a 6-bed fast track area in an acute care settingTrauma Level III facility with approximately 100 patient visits per day and 500-600 pediatric patients per monthTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4, subject to patient acuityUses Cerner (First Net) for electronic chartingShift schedule consists of 12-hour mids with varied start times between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., including every other weekendNo floating requiredCommon patient types include stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and psychiatric casesCentral monitor tech in ICU monitors ER cardiac strips using Phillips telemetry equipmentVentilators used in the unitCharge RN may take a small patient load if neededSupport staff includes nurse aides, a 24 / 7 unit secretary, and a tech working 20 hours per dayMust pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam before an offer is confirmed if working in the Sacramento, CA region or ArizonaSterile technique competency test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change during orientation2-3 days of unit-specific orientation providedHoliday shifts are assigned as part of permanent staff rotationNavy scrubs requiredRespiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services available 24 / 7Returning candidates must not have been employed by any facility affiliated with the health system (including CHI / Dignity) within the last yearRequirements
Active RN license (State or Compact); pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years of recent ER nursing experience; 3-5 years in specialty preferredCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, COVID vaccinationLevel III trauma ER experience preferredTwo professional references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 yearsMust provide a copy of a valid driver’s license for considerationBenefits
