Job Description

Eaton's GEIS division is currently seeking a CNC Programmer. This role is onsite at our GEIS Headquarters in Syracuse, NY. Relocation is not provided for this position.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do :

This position will develop and implement CNC programs and tooling layouts to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes, as well as focus on productivity optimization within department requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.

In this role you will :

\n

  • Program and assist with set-ups as required of CNC machines using long hand G-Code, Mazatrol, Mastercam and other software.

  • Provide programming support on production jobs.
  • \n

  • Assist in the installation and implementation of new CNC equipment by creating programs and work holding fixtures.
  • \n

  • Identify and order new tooling needs for the creation or improvement of programs as needed.
  • \n

  • Design new jigs, tools, fixtures, and provide technical direction to production personnel.
  • \n

  • Redesign existing tooling, update fixture drawings, and revise records, as required by changes in manufacturing processes.
  • \n

  • Supervise the validation of new program rollout and communicate the process effectively with process engineers, quality, and production personnel.
  • \n

  • Implement projects and best practices to maximize CNC work center efficiency using Lean principles.
  • \n

  • Collaborate daily with manufacturing engineering and production supervisors concerning operational challenges.
  • \n

  • Investigate quality problems related to machines and provide technical directions to implement corrective actions and error proofing for future production.
  • \n

  • Train CNC machine operators in new machining technologies as needed.
  • \n

  • Review Engineering Change Notices and make timely changes to programming, tooling, fixturing, etc. to implement changes to production parts.
  • \n

  • Be proactive in identifying and administering projects to obtain the best results for the company and maximize resource use.
  • \n

  • Understand and follow a high standard of professional ethics, to ensure the integrity of the department and the work performed.

    Qualifications :

    Basic (Required) Qualifications :

    \n

  • Associate / Technical degree or certificate with focus on CNC machining or related discipline from an accredited institution OR in lieu of certification or degree, a minimum of three (3) years of experience writing programs for CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience writing programs for CNC lathes and machining centers.
  • \n

  • Minimum one (1) year of Continuous Improvement experience.
  • \n

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in one of the following : SolidWorks, MasterCam, or AutoCAD.
  • \n

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • \n

  • 4 years of experience writing programs for CNC lathes and machining centers in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n

  • 2 years of continuous improvement experience
  • \n

  • Union experience
