Position Summary

The Dispatch and Routing Coordinator is responsible for managing daily delivery schedules, assigning routes, and coordinating the movement of drivers and freight to ensure efficient, safe, and on-time delivery operations. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to make real-time decisions to address changes in delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and optimize daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
• Dispatch drivers with complete and accurate route information, including delivery instructions and special handling requirements.
• Monitor route progress and driver performance throughout the day using GPS and dispatch software.
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
• Adjust and reassign routes in response to traffic delays, cancellations, or last-minute order changes.
• Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and operations teams to ensure accurate order preparation and delivery sequencing.
• Track key performance indicators (on-time delivery, route efficiency, driver compliance).
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, route sheets, and delivery confirmations.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide real-time delivery updates as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and company operational standards.
• Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance routing accuracy and service quality.
