This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages. Millions of people count on our leading brands – including Similac, PediaSure, Pedialyte, Ensure, and Glucerna – to help them get the nutrients they need to live their healthiest lives.
What You'll Work On
Assist in development, planning, and execution of plant-related engineering activities, supporting equipment efficiency throughout the site.Provide engineering support to all aspects of facility infrastructure.Analyze system failures to determine source and cause.Participate in evaluating system conditions and developing long-term obsolescence and sustainability plans.Apply working knowledge of engineering disciplines and independently develop approaches to problem solving that require advanced technical knowledge.Plan and conduct small to medium-sized projects, including detailed project planning / monitoring, budgeting, project reviews, implementation, validation, and release to production.Promote continuous improvement programs utilizing common problem solving tools and methodologies in processes and procedures.Ensure delivery of effective performance management while establishing and sustaining a positive work environment.Coordinate external contractors to perform work in a cost-effective and safe manner.Accountable for meeting compliance standards including FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering).Preferred Qualifications
Experience with engineering responsibility in a regulated industry (food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics).Project planning experience.Demonstrated leadership skills in an environment with complex equipment and systems.Knowledge of project planning tools and experience using them.Experience working with and implementing continuous improvement tools & methodologies.All persons hired will verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
