Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

• Perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repair on gasoline, electric, hybrid, and diesel-powered buses and other fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic systems using current diagnostic equipment, schematics, and fleet management software; perform field and emergency repairs as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an automotive / diesel apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience; valid TN Class “A” CDL with “P” Endorsement and Refrigeration License required.
• Preferred : Two-year degree in Diesel or Automotive Technology or three years’ experience in heavy-duty diesel / automotive repair; must pass DOT drug / alcohol testing and work flexible shifts.
