Description :

Manager will interview candidates.

Unit provides Level 2 nursery care.

The unit has 30 beds.

Nurse to patient ratios are 5-6 : 1.

RNs are not required to titrate drips.

Common drips include IVF and antibiotics.

Charge nurse is assigned each shift and oversees nursing staff.

A charge nurse carries an assignment.

There are scrub techs that float between departments.

One tech is scheduled every shift.

A pediatric hospitalist is on-site 24 / 7.

Respiratory therapy equipment includes C-PAP and high flow.

Vents are used primarily for transfer.

Monitoring strips are read by RNs; there are no monitor techs on the unit.

The position requires nights from 5 PM to 5 : 30 AM.

Block scheduling is utilized.

Every other weekend is required.

Holiday shifts are on a rotating basis.

There are no call or standby requirements.

Floating may be required for couplets if census is low.

Scrubs are provided, and shoes must not be worn outside.

The charting system used is Epic.
