Account Director opportunity
The Account Director position is a unique leadership opportunity for an innovative PR agency. As a member of our management team, this role requires a visionary, creative leader with 7+ years of experience growing teams and delighting clients. The Account Director will lead 4 to 5 teams, oversee the development of high-level strategy with clients, and ensure the team’s success with media strategies. The role includes involvement in new business development and operational leadership. As a member of senior management, this individual will act as a mentor, manager and lead by example for all account teams on client management, quality assurance, staff development and strategic guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Media / Influencer Relations
- Develop and nurture relationships with business, broadcast and influencer media; mentor staff to do the same
- Strategic use of social media channels to engage and support efforts
- Ongoing engagement of media for the agency (blog Q&A, lunch talks, etc.)
- Measure the ROI of communications activities
- Engage with social media influencers, coordinate content campaigns, and amplify media coverage
- Client Service / Management
- Deliver exemplary client service for specified clients
- Develop strong working relationships with clients and understand their business, competitors and industry needs
- Identify key messages and audiences and develop strategic communications plans
- Deliver projects and campaigns on time and on budget
- Understand account financials, hours vs. fees, and manage accounts accordingly
- Proactively communicate with clients on deliverables and budget
- Identify opportunities for organic growth and hit revenue targets
- Maintain strong relationships with media and industry stakeholders
- Keep abreast of market trends and client needs
- Own account management to ensure monthly client billing accuracy and current accounts
- Lead the execution of programs beyond planning, including writing / editing, media relations, social media, digital communications, and crisis work as appropriate
- Be an ambassador for the agency
- Writing Proficiencies
- Plan campaigns or PR programs; produce and edit press materials and related documents
- Maintain professional, articulate and timely client communications
- Develop consistent, creative, successful pitches
- Agency Operations
- Manage 2 direct reports; assist in goal setting and performance reviews
- Participate in new business processes, identify targets, research and pitch
- Attend networking events and encourage team participation
- Maintain a respectful, enthusiastic, and professional attitude; lead by example
- Support teams and manage up and down
- Use flexible work policies responsibly
- Contribute content to Highwire channels and the Highwire blog
- Mentor junior staff

Requirements
