At Mahaska Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our dedicated team . As a Massage Therapist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of our patients by providing therapeutic massage services that promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall recovery. Your expertise will be invaluable in creating personalized treatment plans that accommodate diverse patient needs and conditions. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You are responsible for treating clients by using touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.
Hours :
- Part-time : Varied days and evenings - 18 hours per week Essential job duties include, but are not limited to;
- Provide therapeutic massage services to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' physical and emotional health to determine appropriate treatment methods.
- Develop and implement customized massage therapy plans that address the specific needs and conditions of patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment outcomes to ensure continuity of care. Documents and reports on any adverse effects of therapy.
- Educate patients on the benefits of massage therapy and complementary wellness practices to enhance their overall health.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians and nurses, to coordinate patient care and address any contraindications or concerns.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to all health and sanitation guidelines, including the proper sterilization of equipment. Maintain supplies as needed.
- Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
- Returns phone calls effectively and in a timely manner.
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
- Conduct self in accordance with Mahaska Health’s confidentiality policy; ensuring to follow all MHP training guidelines in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with employees, visitors, medical staff, and patients, keeping in mind the person’s unique needs within their age category (refer to Mahaska Health’s Age Specific Standards of Care Policy).

- Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Attend meetings, as requested.

Job Requirement, not limited to but include,
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.Valid and current massage therapy license or certification in accordance with state regulations.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a massage therapy setting, preferably in a health care or clinical environment.Possesses a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the benefits of various massage techniques, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, and trigger point therapy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and a strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy principles.Required to be current in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association.Will be required to show proof of having completed Mandatory Reporter course at the time of hire or attend within 6 months of the start date.Must adhere to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards.Understand and comply with the requirements of MH’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Mahaska Health Experience Book and all supporting policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Practice policy and as requested by the supervisor.
