Medical Assistant II - The Woodlands

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for our new Concierge Clinic in The Woodlands. The ideal candidate will be proficient in delivering high level patient care in a fast-paced dynamic ambulatory care setting. The MA II performs routine patient care responsibilities but also very specific in-suite testing procedures in addition to clerical / administrative support in a clinical setting. The candidate will receive training to schedule and operate the Dexa machine to perform Bone Mineral Density Studies and Dexa fit analysis. The MA II also provides guidance to other MAs. This location offers free parking.

Job Duties

• Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, collect specimens, and POCTs.
• Performs comprehensive testing including routine EKG's, Placing Heart Monitors, PFT's, ABl's, Cognitive testing, and 24 hour pressure monitoring.
• Notes primary complaint / reason for visit. Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation, updates vaccine status and enters information in the electronic medical record.
• Sets up instruments and equipment for Physician.
• Assists with procedures as needed.
• Administers medication under direction / order of a supervising Physician.
• Instructs Patients on general care and medical procedures.
• Maintains patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
• Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments.
• Conducts patient outreach phone calls and post visit follow-ups.
• Performs clerical / administrative responsibilities such as filing and / or scanning patient medical records, obtaining lab / x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
• Takes inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed.
• Sorts and distributes clinic mail and medical records to the appropriate clinic personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned
